Power BI is considered a tool for personal use, where you can perform analysis and visualize data interactively as an individual user. It is usually mandatory to have a company email, but here we will tell you how to access Power BI without a company email.
The platform combines user experience with interactive data visualization in an intelligent way, with the intention of showing more detailed information about the data. With Power BI, reports can be created and shared in various Microsoft tools such as Teams , SharePoint , PowerPoint , among others, increasing productivity.
Registering for the Power BI Service
If you are interested in registering as an individual user on the Power BI platform, you must first download Power BI Desktop , which is completely free.
Once you have downloaded and installed the Power BI Desktop application, the most important thing is to know which email addresses are supported for registering on the platform.
Accepted email addresses
Power BI requires you to sign up with a work or school email address. You will not be able to sign up with email addresses such as outlook.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com , among others.
Alternative for registering in Power BI without business email
If you're having trouble signing up for Power BI and using its services, an alternative is to sign up for a Microsoft 365 trial and create a business account.
After that, you can use your new work account to sign up for the Power BI service.
Even if your Microsoft 365 trial expires after 30 days, you can still use the email address, as it will be valid for life.
